Artist Meenakshi at her Opening Exhibition on October 21, 2024

Following up on our last feature of Meenakshi for Humans of Lincoln, we’re thrilled to share the success of her recent art event, where 19 of her sketches were showcased. The exhibition drew a diverse crowd, with faculty members and students alike coming together to see her work. Meenakshi’s art left visitors in awe —especially when they realized how much emotion and detail she packed into each drawing.

The collection included powerful portraits of her mother and friends, along with sketches of her favorite anime characters and other figures she admires. It was a mishmash of personal connections and pop culture, with each piece much more captivating than the last. One attendee summed it up perfectly, saying, “The sketches look alive.” It was a sentiment echoed by many.

The event was a beautiful reminder of how art has the power to capture life’s essence in ways words simply can’t—and let’s be real, it’s probably cheaper than therapy.

To Meenakshi, art isn’t just a hobby; it’s much more.
