GET TO KNOW CALI: Exploring Golden Gate Park

On September 7, Get to Know Cali kicked off the Fall 2024 semester with a memorable outing to San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, to visit the de Young Museum and Botanical Garden.

de Young Museum

We immersed ourselves in the de Young's vast exhibitions, ranging from American art to international pieces, from historical artifacts to contemporary masterpieces. Each exhibit offered a glimpse into different worlds and sparked meaningful conversations, allowing our group members to share insights into their cultural heritages.

"Honestly, coming from a country in Southeast Asia, I was unfamiliar with African arts and cultures, but this trip has provided me with a great opportunity to learn about and appreciate them from the perspectives of my new Ghanaian and Nigerian friends." - Student

💡Pocket Tip!!   Take advantage of the "Free Saturdays at the De Young"  program, which offers free admission to Bay Area residents.

SF Botanical Garden

The group strolled for a few minutes through the park to our next destination, the SF Botanical Garden. We wandered through vibrant gardens filled with exotic plants and lush landscapes. The diverse flora, representing regions from all corners of the globe, provided a beautiful setting for relaxation and pictures.

"The trip has offered us a splendid opportunity to meet our fellow students, be part of the community, and satisfy our passion and interest for art, cultures, and nature." - Student

💡Pocket Tip!!  Check the weather and plan a picnic at SF Botanical Garden.

Join our journey and be part of a vibrant community that values experiences, cultural

sharing, and friendships through exploring and learning activities.
